Interview with Michael Grootjans

For Baia Vista kitchens, bathrooms and tiles, we work with Michael Grootjans of Sani Kitchen Projects.

Sani Kitchen Projects is an international company with offices in the Netherlands, Spain and Curaçao. With more than 20 years of experience, they realise high-quality kitchen and bathroom solutions for both large and small projects, working closely with property developers.

With his background in the Netherlands, where he ran several successful sanitaryware and kitchen shops, Michael focuses entirely on project-based solutions in Curaçao. In doing so, he works exclusively with renowned European A-brands such as Geberit, Grohe, Villeroy & Boch and Nobilia.

In this interview, Michael talks about his vision, the trends he sees and the choices that add up to sustainable luxury in a tropical climate.

What is your role in Baia Vista?

We supply all sanitaryware, tiles and kitchens. In doing so, we work exclusively with renowned European brands of the highest quality. We are not just about supplying products, but also providing advice and guidance - so that residents and owners can enjoy years of carefree enjoyment.

How do you take into account the tropical climate?

Curaçao has different requirements from the Netherlands. Heat, humidity and salty sea breezes require materials that are durable and low-maintenance. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know exactly which solutions suit this climate. We ensure that everything not only looks good, but also remains functional in the long term.

How do you combine luxury and functionality?

Luxury and functionality sometimes seem opposites, but it is precisely through experience, knowledge and creativity that we bring the two together. Always in consultation with the customer, we look for solutions that are technically feasible, practical in use and luxurious in appearance.

The Wharf is one of many projects where Sani Kitchen Projects realised the high-quality kitchen and bathroom solutions.

What trends do you see reflected in residents' choices?

One clear trend is the return to natural tones. Think light and dark wood colours, combined with natural stone-look tops and sand colours. In bathrooms, we see bronze and gunmetal as real eye-catchers, as well as many round shapes in mirrors, for example. Everything exudes an air of natural luxury.

For the buyers of Baia Vista, we have translated this into three different style packages, so that everyone - depending on their taste - can make a suitable choice.

How is working with the team at Baia Vista?

We were involved in the project from the start and were able to think along from the beginning. The team clearly gave us their wishes, and from there we started fine-tuning together: technical feasibility, luxurious appearance and long-term quality. It was an intensive and pleasant process, with an eye for detail and mutual trust.

What makes Baia Vista special for you personally?

Every project gets our full commitment, but we are extra proud when a developer consciously chooses us. For us, Baia Vista is a great example of how, together, you can create a concept that is right - down to the last detail.

What do you want to give future residents?

In consultation with the developer, a balanced programme was chosen. Residents can count on high-quality products and solutions that provide years of pleasure and comfort. It will truly be a home where everything is just right.
